Smart Module Controller
The Smart Module Controller is a DC-DC converter installed on the rear of PV modules in a PV system. Its Module Level Power Electronics (MLPE) nature allows it to manage the maximum power point (MPP) of each PV module to improve the energy yield of the PV system, and performs functions such as module-level shutdown and module-level management. The MLPE also provides refine management in terms of performance monitoring and faults diagnosis. The management system displays the PV module positions, and power. As well as optimizer input and output current and voltage, implementing intelligent module-level monitoring in a friendly-physical layout visualisation. In addition, the PV module layout of the plant can accurately reflect the actual installation positions. The equipment data is uploaded in real time and the status is reported in real time, helping users accurately locate the fault and locate the faulty device. To address safety standards regarding fire protection, Smart Module Controllers allow module level voltage shutdown ensuring maximum safety for installers, maintenance personnel, firefighters, and homeowners alike. MLPE module-level rapid shutdown can be performed within milliseconds when arcing is detected. The RSD function is designed to automatically reduce modules’ voltage to a safe level and de-energize PV wires in case of emergency.
Huawei FusionSolar
The Huawei Smart SUN2000-Smart Module Controller is designed to harness the maximum power from a solar module in residential scenarios. To achieve this, Huawei has integrated module-level power electronics technology. It can significantly increase the efficiency of the system while reducing mismatch and other types of losses. The Huawei Smart SUN2000 Smart Module Controller measures 71 x 138 x 25 mm and weighs 550 g, making it easy to install on the back of the module frame. There is an input and output Staubli MC4 connector for the DC connection. The input cable has a length of 1.2 metres, which allows for the gap distance in leap frog installation scenarios. On the technical side, the Huawei Smart SUN2000-450W-P2 Smart Module Controller offers a rated input power of 450 watts at an absolute input voltage of 80 volts, with a possible voltage range of 8 to 80 volts. The optimiser can handle an input short circuit current of 14,5 A. The device complies with overvoltage category II. The extremely high efficiency of 99.5% (weighted efficiency 99.0%) is impressive. This underlines the power optimiser's claim to increase the efficiency of the system. The Huawei Smart SUN2000-450W-P2 Optimizer is a one-fits-all device that is compatible with various PV modules. Pairing with the inverter is quick and easy..
