Limited Product Warranty of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei")

This Limited Product Warranty applies to the "Covered Products" defined in the following table and only for the duration of the "Warranty Period" defined in the following table or subject to the following conditions:

    Warranty period: Twenty-four (24) months from the date of shipment.

AC Charger

Warranty period: Thirty-six (36) months from shipment

Notice:

The limited warranty applies only to the purchaser who purchased the products from an authorized seller of Huawei for the intended use. The limited warranty may be transferred by the purchaser to any successor in title and shall remain valid for the period of time remaining under the aforementioned warranties unless the products are removed from the original country of installation and reinstalled in accordance with Huawei's user manual or Quick Start Guide.

If, during the warranty period, a Covered Product is found to have a nonconformity or a manufacturing or material defect that occurs during normal use of the Covered Product, Huawei will replace the Covered Product with a product that is functionally equivalent (in terms of function), subject to the conditions below, function, fit compatibility, standard software version) or better than the defective Covered Product described in the warranty claim ("Replacement Product"), and the terms of this Limited Product Warranty shall apply to any Replacement Product supplied by Huawei under this Limited Product Warranty. A Replacement Product is the customer's sole and complete remedy with respect to any nonconformity or defect of the Covered Products.

If the replacement product is an Inverter or Safety Box, it will be covered by this Limited Product Warranty for the remainder of the warranty period or three hundred sixty (360) days from the date of replacement, whichever is longer. If the replacement product is an Optimizer, SmartLogger, SmartACU, SACU2000, ACBox, SmartPID2000 or SmartDongle product, it will be covered by this Limited Product Warranty for the remaining warranty period or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement, whichever is longer. After replacement, the replacement product becomes the property of the customer and the defective Covered Product becomes the property of Huawei.

Warranty specification for Smart String battery

Warranty period: 10 years
Lifetime during warranty period (for 5 kWh battery): 16.45 Mwh@60% EOL
Warranty extension: Not applicable

Notes:

  • The battery warranty is defined as follows: When the battery pack reaches the warranty period or the life cycle discharge is completed, the remaining capacity EOL meets the specification requirements and the former takes effect; the power module DCDC covers the warranty period only and has nothing to do with battery performance. The battery pack and power module provide an independent warranty.
  • Capacity test conditions: at an ambient temperature of 25°C±3°C, leave for 10 minutes after charging to 100% SOC and discharge the tested battery cell at a set current of 0.2C to the discharge termination voltage and record the amount of current released.
  • To remotely update the latest firmware to ensure battery life, it is highly recommended to connect the battery to the Huawei FusionSolar SmartPV management system.
  • After purchasing the battery, the installation must be completed within one month. If the battery fails, this must be reported within two weeks. Damage to the battery cell caused by negligence because the battery has not been charged for a long period of time is not covered by the warranty.
  • The operation and life of the battery depend on the operating temperature. Please install the battery at a temperature equal to or better than the ambient temperature. The recommended operating temperature for the battery is 15~30℃.

Standard warranty extension procedure

The warranty period for inverters can be extended up to ten (10), fifteen (15) or twenty (20) years ("Warranty Extension") at additional cost to the customer. A warranty extension can only be purchased during the valid warranty period.

Any warranty extension is subject to and complies with the same terms and conditions as the standard warranty period.

Assertion of warranty claims

To make a claim under this Limited Product Warranty, immediately upon discovery of a nonconformity or manufacturing or material defect in the Covered Products, the customer must report the nonconformity or defect to Huawei by contacting the Huawei Customer Services Help Desk (contact information as provided below) and providing the following information:

  • A brief description of the nonconformity or deficiency; including, but not limited to, input and output.
  • Parameters, alarm ID, cause ID and data exported from the inverter;
  • Serial number of the product;
  • Minutes and photos

The assertion of any claim under this limited product warranty is conditioned upon the provision of this information.

Product substitute

Upon receipt of a warranty claim, Huawei will determine whether the claim is covered by this Limited Product Warranty. If Huawei determines that the claim is not covered by this Limited Product Warranty, Huawei will inform the customer and provide the reasons why the claim was rejected. If Huawei determines that the claim is covered by this Limited Product Warranty, Huawei will provide the customer with a replacement product.

If Huawei decides to provide a replacement product, Huawei will deliver the replacement product to the customer's designated location within the European countries, usually within two to five (2-5) "business days" (Monday to Friday, but excluding public and bank holidays) after the warranty claim is logged, investigated, and confirmed. Within (15) fifteen (15) business days after the customer receives the replacement product, the customer must return the defective covered product to the customer's designated location within European countries. Product to Huawei in the original packaging or in the packaging removed from the replacement Product (or otherwise in a safe and secure packaging to avoid damage in transit)

Huawei reserves the right to charge the customer for the cost of the defective covered product, and the customer agrees to bear such cost by making a warranty claim if:

  • A replacement product was shipped to the customer, but the defective covered product is not returned to Huawei in a timely manner;
  • Upon inspection, a returned covered product does not match that described in the warranty claim;
  • Upon appraisal, it is determined that a Covered Product is not covered by this Limited Product Warranty or the Limited Product Warranty has been voided as described below.

Payment of the installation fee and transport costs of the faulty inverter

Upon Huawei's replacement and receipt of a defective Covered Product (applicable only to Inverter and SmartLogger, SmartACU, Power Sensor, SmartDongle WLAN-FE/4G, LUNA2000, Smart Backup Box), Huawei shall pay to the certified installer within the warranty period a fee of €110 (including VAT) per Covered Product ("Installer Call-out Fee") and reasonable transportation costs, provided that such transportation costs have been mutually agreed upon prior to the customer's return of the defective Covered Product. Huawei will pay €25 (including VAT) per unit for the replacement of the second or more defective Optimizers. Payment of the Installer Call-Out Fee and all agreed The transportation costs will be paid by Huawei or by a service company on behalf of Huawei within sixty (60) days after receipt of the defective Covered Product by Huawei.

Limited cover

This Limited Product Warranty applies only to the hardware of the Covered Products and does not apply to components that are separate from the Covered Products, such as ancillary equipment, consumables, and mechanical parts for assembly or protective coatings that degrade over time (unless the defect occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship).

This Limited Product Warranty applies only to customers who purchased the covered products directly from Huawei or from an authorized seller of Huawei inverters in European Union countries (islands not included). Huawei only handles shipping in the European Union countries (islands not included).

This Limited Product Warranty applies only if installation and any disassembly and reinstallation has been performed in accordance with the installation instructions and user guidelines provided with the Covered Products ("Documentation").

This Limited Product Warranty will be void if the serial number of the Covered Product has been removed or defaced.

Exceptions

This limited product warranty does not cover defects or damage resulting from the following:

  • The warranty does not cover damage caused by the incorrect installation or use of the device with reference to the user manual provided by Huawei
  • Customer's failure to install and operate the Covered Product in accordance with the Huawei Product Specifications;
  • the covered product is used other than in a normal and customary manner
  • unauthorized disassembly, repair, alteration or modification;
  • Misuse, misappropriation, intentional damage, negligence or accidental damage;
  • improper testing, operation, maintenance or installation, including without limitation:
    • Failure to comply with written system requirements for a safe operating environment or external electrical parameters.
    • Failure to operate the Covered Products in accordance with the Covered Products' operating instructions and/or user manuals.
    • Relocation and installation of the system that do not meet Huawei's requirements.
  • Damage due to use of incorrect voltage
  • directly caused by problems in the system infrastructure
  • improper storage, shipping, handling or use of the covered products
  • Force majeure events (including, but not limited to, acts of public enemy, acts of governmental agencies or authorities at home or abroad, sabotage, riots, fires, floods, typhoons, explosions or other disasters, epidemics or quarantine restrictions, labor unrest or shortages, accidents, freight embargoes, or other events beyond Huawei's control) for the period caused by such event.

The Limited Product Warranty does not cover cosmetic damage or superficial defects, dents, marks or scratches that do not affect the proper functioning of the covered product.

Limitation of liability

This limited product warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, conditions or guarantees as to description, quality, fitness for a particular purpose, satisfactory or merchantable quality of covered products, or any other warranty, condition or guarantee, express or implied.

Huawei shall not be liable in contract, tort, or otherwise for any nonconformity or defect in the Covered Products or for any injury, damage, or loss resulting from such nonconformity or defect, or for any loss of contract, loss of revenue, loss of use, loss of profits or business, business interruption, or for any additional operating costs or indirect, consequential, or economic damages or losses of any kind.

The remedies specified in this Limited Product Warranty are the customer's sole and complete remedies for non-conformity or defects of the Covered Products. Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in this Limited Product Warranty limits Huawei's liability for:

  • Death or bodily injury
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by law.

General

  • No one other than an authorized representative of Huawei may make any changes, extensions, or additions to this Limited Product Warranty.
  • If any provision of this Limited Product Warranty is held by a court or arbitrator to be invalid or unenforceable, the validity or enforceability of that provision shall not affect the other provisions of this Limited Product Warranty, which shall remain in full force and effect.
