The new Huawei Energy Management Assistant, EMMA, is more than just an algorithm. EMMA is an innovative combination of software and hardware technology. It integrates power generation, all consumption measurements as well as communication and control with other devices in a single device. Thanks to AI-based analysis, EMMA can accurately forecast household energy demand and intelligently distribute, store and return excess energy to optimize system performance, increase self-consumption and maximize financial benefits.
EMMA is an intelligent device that optimizes energy planning, energy management and energy flow distribution. The AI-supported energy management system can also be used for the intelligent control of radiators and heat pumps. The digital inputs and outputs with smart grid-capable contacts make it possible to activate and deactivate a heat pump.
Grid-connected power control has been improved to a response time of 2 seconds thanks to EMMA. EMMA supports peak shaving, AI-supported PV and ESS planning and "next-trip" mode for smart chargers. The number of Smart Chargers has been increased with the ability to install two AC wallboxes in single and three-phase scenarios. EMMA enables the retrofitting of heat pumps and smart switches to expand appliance management in smart homes. Communication with third-party management systems has a polling response time of less than one second and a dispatching response time of less than 4.5 seconds. External current transformers are not required in the electrical installation, as EMMA has an integrated function for measuring the current consumption of 63 amps.
